This is a collection of work I Illustrated and designed for Amsterdam restaurant Ramen Kingdom. I used to work at this restaurant and they asked me, if i could design flyers, poster, menu items and other various items.

Ramen illustrations

Flyers

Ramen Kingdom commissioned me to design a flyer. It was made in preparation for a special day on May 7th. I was asked to illustrate a fun graphic for the restaurant and  was inspired by various Yokai (Japanese mythical monsters) so I used them in this design. The monsters are enjoying a delicious bowl of ramen.

refrigerator Door sticker

This design draws from traditional Japanese motifs, showcasing old Kabuki artists, Geisha, Dragons and also pays tribute to the iconic Japanese wave motif, capturing the essence of the ocean's power. These waves, seen in the famous Hokusai woodblock print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," were used to float the various items that Ramen Kingdom sells. I want this design to take people on this magical journey to the Ramen Kingdom.

umbrella design

Ramen Kingdom wanted to have a custom umbrella for the winter season. I tried to expand the design from the refrigerator doors and place this in an octagon shape.

It continues the different traditional Japanese motifs, showcasing old Kabuki artists, Geisha, Dragons and famous Hokusai woodblock prints. By expanding the refrigerator design there was more room to experiment and tell small stories. Because it is an octagon shape your eye will focus in the middle of the design on the beautiful starry sky, where streams of delicious noodles float down to give the Ramen Kingdom delicious ramen.
